After an epic 27 date ‘Gypsy Fever’ tour around New Zealand over summer, The Benka Boradovsky Bordello Band have announced that they will play one more gig on Saturday 6th March at the Monte Cristo Room in Auckland before calling it quits.
Having spent the last three summers touring NZ, six months based in Berlin, headlining 7 packed out Gypsy Fever events in Auckland and performing at such festivals as Splore, Prana, Parihaka, Jambalaya, AK07 and AK09 their departure will no doubt be lamented by all those who saw them play and danced wildly

When Balkan, Punk, Cabaret and Swing combine, nuclear meltdowns of worlds begin...
The band has been lurking in Berlin, destroying minds and lifting knees and skirts of unsuspecting Berliners. Upon their return, they plan to bring a whole new Bacchanalia to New Zealand in another of their famed summer tours, as well as festivals across the country...
Monkey Records is pleased to announce the release of a summery little gem from Auckland artist Bond Street Bridge. The new song 'Birds' is the first single from Bond Street Bridge's forthcoming sophomore album, due for release in early 2010 following on from the critically acclaimed The Mapmaker's Art released last year.
In this catchy wee number, Bond Street Bridge, aka Sam Prebble, reflects on the mating habits of New Zealand's paradise shelduck, Tadorna variegata. These striking brown-and-white ducks generally mate for life, and pairs are a common sight in open country in New Zealand.
Prebble says 'I spend a lot of time driving around the country for shows and whatnot, and anthropomorphising the wildlife is a good way to pass the time. I have to concede that the birds in this song are probably not really in love, but based on the way
